Although the Nuss procedure is considered only somewhat invasive, attention must be paid to some of the serious complications associated with surgery and anaesthesia. The complication rate out of the 240 patients studied was 18.7%. Intraoperative hypotension, tachycardia, and hypercapnia are the most common complications.
